On Saturday, June 7, Nathan Fillion, best known as Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly, and Richard Castle on Castle, spoke on a panel at Phoenix Comicon! Check out our photos from his panel.
Nathan Fillion’s panel was definitely the most anticipated panel of the day. When I took a bathroom break after Stephen Amell’s panel (Phoenix Comicon provides hand stamps for re-admittance), the line waiting to get into Nathan Fillion’s panel was crazy. I use the word “line” loosely, because it was more like a crowd! I had trouble even getting to the bathroom because there were so many people in line for the panel.
Anyway, so apparently in Nathan Fillion panels, he usually brings items from his “junk drawer” to give out as prizes to audience members who ask him questions. After the first audience member asked her question, he apologized that he didn’t bring anything from his junk drawer, so instead he took off his watch and gave it to her. Then when the next audience member asked a question, the moderator volunteered to give away his own watch. After the 3rd audience member asked a question, Nathan magically was wearing another watch, which he took off and gave away! It turns out he was hiding an envelope of watches under the table. He kept up the gag throughout the panel, strapping on another watch and giving it away to each and every person that came up to ask a question, until he ran out and had to give out the envelope itself, as well as the water bottles that were on the table. Below are our pictures from the panel.
