Great points but I’m still an Iron Man guy.

    1. David D says:

Thanks for the comment, Levi. That’s what great about the movie, imo. No one’s right or wrong, it’s all opinions and preferences, but the fact that we can discuss in depth either side of the debate is fantastic.

  2. Matthew D says:

I agree that neither side is totally right but I agree more with Captain America’s side than Iron Man’s side.

  3. David K says:

That is a great analysis. In fact, the article would make a good term paper. It’s very well thought out and detailed. That’s why the Captain America movies are my favorite of the MCU. Both Winter Soldier and Civil War bring up important issues about civil liberties vs. government power.

    1. David D says:

Thanks, David! Appreciate the kind words. And by the way, awesome name!

  4. Leisa Winrich says:

Scary regarding how brutal Captain America was when fighting Tony. This debate will probably continue until the next movie. But, who can go against Cap after starting the movie with a funeral.

  5. Serena Powell says:

While I don’t 100% agree with the actions Captain took, I still stand by him and think that he’s on the correct side.

  6. Yuta says:

Excellent article, and I agree! One thing I found interesting was that even though T’challa was there at the UN in support of the Accords, as Black Panther he’s exactly what the Accords are against. Granted, Black Panther is supposedly just protecting Wakanda, but he’s no less a vigilante than The Avengers are, and doesn’t his chasing of Bucky constitute vigilante justice?

And in reference to Leisa’s comment about Cap’s scary brutality, remember that Tony was being pretty brutal before that. And I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if Tony would’ve had the control to not seriously injure Cap if the roles were reversed. Tony has always been the more emotionally driven and fragile.

    1. David D says:

You’re right, it does seem a little hypocritical for T’Challa to support the accords, but then when something happens, go rogue on a revenge mission to kill Bucky.

  7. Emily says:

I will always be team cap!

  8. Tim says:

I’m still Team Spider-Man. He does what he thinks is right regardless of who it is.

  9. Christopher says:

This is a very hard choice given the circumstances.
I believe in the end, Cap isn’t right
